Buccleuch Park
Buccleuch Park is located between the Raritan River and Easton Avenue. Here you’ll find many athletic fields such as baseball fields, soccer fields, as well as tennis and volleyball courts. There’s also a playground, rock garden, and pavilion for a picnic. This is a great place to have some fun and just unwind. Bring your dog along too because this park is dog friendly.

Community Park
Another great spot for outdoor activities, Community Park is perfect for a game of basketball, or soccer, or just to go for a walk on the trail. It’s located on Dunhams Corner Road in East Brunswick. While this is a bit of a longer drive at about 20 minutes, it’s worth it!

Lake Nelson Park
Lake Nelson Park offers fishing, boating, and basketball fun. There are also spots to have a picnic. The serene view is also ideal to sit and read a good book. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Johnson Park
Johnson Park offers several different activities for people in Piscataway. It is named after the Johnson family that founded the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical company and donated the original 100 acres of land for the park. It is located on the banks of the Raritan River in Piscataway and Highland Park and spans some 478 acres.
Here you’ll find hiking trails, a playground, sports fields, and even a wildlife sanctuary. It is located less than 20 minutes from many apartments in Piscataway.
Raritan River Greenway
If you love to hike, bike, or run, the Raritan River Greenway is going to be a favorite. It’s also a popular spot for fishing and its scenic views of the Raritan River. Just recently, the portion of the Raritan River Greenway Trail at Duke Island Park near Head Gates Dam reopened after Hurricane Ida devastated the area. This is a beautiful spot to get some exercise or just sit and unwind.
Playgrounds
Piscataway is also home to some fun playgrounds for the little ones. Places like Quibbletown Park and Irishtown Park are often favorites. There are swings, monkey bars, and more!
Dog Parks
If you have a dog, you have to take advantage of the various dog parks near Piscataway. The Southside Dog Park and the Central Park Dog Park are just two places you’ll want to take your favorite four-legged friend.
Sport Parks AKA Time to Play Ball!
Piscataway doesn’t come up short when it comes to athletic fields and facilities. Whether you favor baseball, soccer, or tennis, there are plenty of spaces to brush up on your game and get some exercise.
Columbus Park and the Green Acres Athletic Fields offer some great spaces for baseball and other sports. You can also use this area if you’re just looking for a place to walk.
If you’re looking to join a soccer team, The Fields Sports Complex has plenty of opportunities for all ages. There are also soccer classes offered. You’ll find this amazing sports complex just about 20 minutes from The Pleasant View Gardens Apartments.
Tennis anyone? Johnson Park has some great tennis courts as well as Columbus Park. If you’re looking to play at Columbus Park, you’ll want to call ahead and check to see if you need a reservation.
Piscataway also offers plenty of youth sports leagues and clinics for a variety of sports. All of these programs work to help introduce children to the sport as well as develop their skills. Many of the fields are near apartments in Piscataway, making them easy to get to.
